Working in Private Dentistry - Centre for Dentistry

Thanks to the changing employment landscape, there are more and more exciting opportunities to work in private dentistry (you can find our latest vacancies here). For those contemplating a move into the private sector, here are some of the key things for you to consider…

The work environment

Based in Sainsbury’s, Centre for Dentistry is ideally placed to provide an accessible, reliable family dental practice where patient care is the focus.

We make sure you have the time to build a trusting relationship with your patients so you can look after them in a calm and relaxed environment. We allocate 45 minutes for all new patient appointments so you have more time to get to know your patients, more time to provide helpful advice and more time to discuss treatment options.

Modern equipment

We make sure you have the best kit and consumables to do a great job every time. We work to best practice clinical and compliance standards throughout the organisation.

Innovation and technology

We embrace the advantages technology can bring and recognise the huge benefits of investing in this area. We have built all of own cloud based, integrated IT systems to give you up-to-date information whenever you need it and we continue to develop. For example, we have cutting edge laser equipment in some of our practices, which greatly expands the scope of procedures we can offer our patients. We have also recently launched a new dental app for patients that can offer appointment booking in real time and much more – it’s the first app of its kind!

Supportive team

We are “corporate” in the strict definition of the word – with multiple practices in 24 towns and cities up and down the UK – but we don’t think like a corporate and we certainly don’t run the business through spreadsheets and cost cutting.

At Centre for Dentistry we are all passionate about making a difference in the dental industry. We are happy to help each other and there is always support on hand should you need it – from your colleagues in practice, your manager, and the central team at head office in Bath.

Induction, Training and Development

We make sure you have full training and support whatever your job within the organisation and we offer you support to grow and develop your career in the way that you want to.

We provide thorough induction training for everyone in the team to ensure you settle in well in those crucial first few months. Beyond that, CFD’s internal training and development programme is called GEMS and is designed to recognise the valuable contribution of each and every team member. The three-tiered GEMS scheme offers staff the opportunity to train in new skills to a specialist level, to gain a nationally recognised qualification, with salary increments aligned to some of the modules. With a growing network of specialists combined and a focus on increased referral and specialist activity means more opportunity to develop specialist skills.

Rewarding Career

In addition to comprehensive training and development opportunities, we offer a compelling, performance-based incentive programme to regularly reward both practices and individuals for their hard work. We also offer employee discount on products and services to enable you to take good care of your own oral health.

We are always looking out for exceptional people for whom patient care remains the prime reason they elected to train in this industry in the first place. If this sounds like you, do get in touch. We’d love to hear from you!
