Bursary award for CFD dentists

Once you become a dentist, your development does not stop there. There are many different topics to hone and learn more about – there are courses in endodontics; cosmetic dentistry; prosthodontics; implant dentistry; orthodontics; periodontics; oral surgery and radiography to name but a few. Your continued professional development in dentistry is important – not only for your GDC registration, but also to keep your interest alive in the subject and to develop your own career.

At Centre for Dentistry, we are committed to helping our clinicians to be the best that they can be, fostering a culture of clinical excellence. That’s why we offer bursaries to our clinicians to help expand this excellence and to help particularly dedicated and exceptional dentists receive the training they deserve.

Vivek Shah, a dentist at our practices in Rustington and Brighton, recently received the bursary award for the MSc in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry with the University of Manchester. Vivek was delighted to have his application chosen by the bursary panel and said:Dr Vivek Shah - Dentist at CFD Brighton, Chichester, Rustington

“For anyone looking to start a career in private dentistry, CFD is the best place to do it.  There is plenty of support from the staff within the practices, area managers, the owners, and other staff within the many CFD practices. If you are concerned about making that leap from NHS or mixed dentistry to private dentistry, then CFD do not put any pressure on the pace at which at which you work.  Their number one aim is to provide good dentistry, and the rest will follow as a result.

I have been fortunate to work as part of several practices within CFD where all team members are passionate about what they do and are always willing to help one another.  There is a good community spirit and social nights out are always a good laugh.

I joined CFD early on in my career and felt I still had (and still do have) a lot to develop. CFD were more than happy to support the courses I joined even though that would mean several days away from the practice.  In addition, the other specialist practitioners within the company are a great source for obtaining a mentor to further help development. I will always be grateful for the opportunity CFD provided me with.”

The bursary will be awarded to clinicians at dedicated points throughout the year and we look forward to seeing our dentists developing their careers with us!
